Doctor Who star Matt Smith carries the Olympic Torch in the Relay this morning in Cardiff Bay, Wales UK.

Thousands of people lined the streets of Cardiff Bay to see Matt Smith take his turn to carry the torch.

The TV Series Doctor Who is filmed and made in Cardiff at the Wales BBC Television studies.

Matt Smith who plays The Doctor said he was honoured to be allowed to take his turn on the streets of Cardiff carrying the torch.

He wore the official white strip that all the Olympics torch bearers have to wear.

Doctor Who episode Fear Her with David Tennant and Billie Piper

In the episode of  Doctor Who called Fear Her The Doctor had brought Rose, his companion at the time forward six years into the future so they could attend the 2012 Olympics in London.

But they got side tracked when they found out that children were going missing and a little girl had been invaded by a friendly alien because it had been separated from it own kind and family.

The girl was lonely and so was the alien.  Rose persuades the alien to get into its tiny space ship and helps it by throwing the ship into the torch as it passes by the street.

The Doctor  then takes over when the last torch bearer stumbles on his way into the Olympic stadium in London.

He picks up the torch and proceeds up the steps to the Eternal Flame Bowl.  When he lights this the alien ship is transported back to its family and the 2012 Olympics starts.

I remember watching this episode for the first time and thinking that the real event was a long way away and wondering what I would be doing for real then.

I must say though that those years have gone by very quickly.

This is the episode of Doctor Who where Amy Pond dies!

Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have been in the US filming scenes for the new science fiction series of Doctor Who.

The cast and crew, including Executive Producer and lead writer Steven Moffat, were in New York shooting scenes for the newest season of the TV series Doctor Who.

Scenes for the series were shot in East Manhattan, Central Park and Times Square

The Weeping Angels kill Amy Pond

Weeping Angels can only move when nobody is looking at them. As soon as anyone sees them they instantly turn into stone.

The Weeping Angels have the ability to send people into the past so that they can feed on the energy of what would have been their victims' lives.

This is a scene from the episode where Amy Pond dies! No more Amy Pond after this fifth episode!

Really do not want to see her and Rory leave the show.  The idea that she dies too is not very nice.  Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have created two amazing characters as The Doctor’s companions.  They will be greatly missed!

Jenna-Louise Coleman is the new companion for The Doctor in Doctor Who.

She will arrive on our screens in the Christmas special of 2012.

And guess who has won the best female drama actress award at the National Television Awards in London tonight!

Yes it was Karen Gillan for playing one of The Doctor's companion as Amy Pond.
Unfortunately she also confirmed that she was leaving Doctor Who.
Karen said: "I've had the best years of my life on this show and I don't know if I'll ever have as much fun again."

No Amy Pond or Rory this year in Doctor Who

A new companion for The Doctor!

I have just read that in this years new series of Doctor Who in the autumn we will be without The Doctor's companions.

Matt Smith is still playing the role of The Doctor but neither Rory or Amy will be in this years show after the fifth episode!

That stinks.  Why oh why do the writers feel they have to keep changing the Doctor's companions.

At least River Song will still feature in the new episodes.

Doctor Who is the best science fiction series on TV.

Role on the autumn when the new season starts

I love this program and have given a review of all the episodes and extra bits in this Doctor Who 2nd Series DVD Box Set

I have also written a detailed synopsis of season one.  Here we meet The Doctor and learn of the story of the Time Lord from Galifrey.

The Doctor is a 900 year old alien who has lost all his family and species in a Time War with the Daleks.

He meets a young girl called Rose.  She helps him to come to terms with his anger and loss.  For more of the story of Rose Tyler and The Doctor click the link below.

A great DVD Box Set of Doctor Who second season available online! There is also David Tennant's Video diary which gives a fascinating insight on how the actor was very nervous as he started his first season as The Doctor.

The Video Diary also has scenes of the other actors doing their scenes etc!
